discoloration and the irregular shape of any tooth.
One of the amazing benefits of veneers (laminates) is that they are very quick to make, you would only need two appointments in the dental office. Also, they bond to the frontal surface of the tooth without excessive reduction of the original tooth.
- First Dental Visit: Tooth Preparation
The tooth preparation for porcelain veneers requires a tooth reduction of 0.5mm of the front part of the dental surface. The laboratory time required for the fabrication of a porcelain laminate veneer is approximately 5 days. Due to the minimal amount of tooth reduction, it is usually not necessary to make any type of temporary restoration. Should a temporary tooth be needed, they will be made at the time of your first visit.
- Second Dental Visit: Insertion of the veneers
Your second visit, the insertion of your laminate can be accomplished with or without local anesthetic. This visit is usually longer in length. The laminates are placed with a light sensitive resin which is hardened by using a white light.
- They are made with strong porcelain, beautifully thin and smooth, and look exactly like your own teeth, the final results are very natural.
- In most cases we recommend a Zoom whitening before the veneers for better long term color results.
- Porcelain veneers can easily last 7 to 10 years. In some cases, when people grind their teeth or chew things like pencils, pen, or ice cubes, this could cause trauma and eventually cause a chip or crack in their veneer.
- Once placed, porcelain laminate veneers are typically the kindest restoration to the gum tissues that we currently have in our prosthetic armamentarium. Do not be afraid that you will damage your laminates by either flossing or brushing. A good home care regimen will insure the esthetic success of your laminate restorations for years to come.
- Some sensitivity to hot and cold may be experienced after the placement of your veneers. This relates to the amount of enamel left on your tooth after preparation. Some sensitivity is absolutely normal and usually dissipates after one-two weeks.
Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain Crowns are dental restorations known as “caps” may be necessary because of broken down old fillings, fractured, chipped or sensitive teeth. If you are missing a part of a tooth we can replace the missing portion with a porcelain crown.
They are made of natural looking porcelain and are made to improve your overall smile, also crowns are used to improve the appearance of natural teeth that are malformed, malpositioned or discolored.
Sometimes an underlying metal shell is used under the porcelain if additional strength is needed.
In cases where an entire tooth is missing, we can make a porcelain bridge, replacing the tooth and reinforcing it by attaching it to the teeth on either side.

Before and after of the porcelain crown
Some of the indications for a crown are:
- Previously filled tooth where there now exists more filling than tooth. The existing tooth structure becomes weakened and can no longer support the filling.
- Extensive damage by decay.
- Discolorations and compromised esthetics.
- Fractures.
- Root canal – After root canal, teeth tend to become brittle and are more apt to fracture. These teeth need to be protected by a crown.
Porcelain Bridges
If you are missing a part of a tooth we can replace the missing portion with a porcelain crown. In cases where an entire tooth is missing, we can make a porcelain bridge, replacing the tooth and reinforcing it by attaching it to the teeth on either side.
Some of the indications for a Porcelain bridges are:
- In cases where an entire tooth is missing.
- When the bone condition of the missing tooth is not good for dental implants osseointegration.
Porcelain bridges required a tooth reduccion (trimmed) of the teeth on either side of the missing tooth.
The laboratory time required for the fabrication of a Porcelain bridges is approximately 5 to 8 work days. We fabricated a temporary bridge while the laboratory is working on your case.

Orthodontics and Invisalign
Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of custom- made, nearly undetectable aligners.
And It’s been proven effective in both clinical research and in practices nationwide. So whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, you’ll have a new reason to smile.

Invisalign technology
Upon a initial examination, your doctor decides if Invisalign is right for you. Your doctor will write a treatment plan and take an impression of your teeth, which are submitted to Invisalign. Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign careful translates your doctor’s instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners. You then wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, moving your teeth gradually- week by week, millimeter by millimeter- until you’ve achieved the intended result: straighter teeth. Generally, you visit your doctor no more often than you would with braces and the length of treatment is about the same.

Before and after Invisalign system
As there are no metal wires and brackets, Invisalign is comfortable. And due that it’s removable, eating, brushing and flossing are no problem. You can still enjoy your favorite foods and smile without holding back. With Invisalign, there’s nothing to hide.
Dental Implants
Dental Implants can be used to replace missing teeth. They have been used very successfully now for the past 25 years and dentistry has come to rely on them for solving problems that were formerly insolvable.
There are several types of dental implants; the most widely accepted and successful is the osseointegrated implant, based on the discovery by Swedish Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark that titanium can be successfully fused into bone when osteoblasts grow on and into the rough surface of the implanted titanium.
Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone. Integration of the implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes.

Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation by your implantologist will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Bone disappears when it’s not used (if no tooth is present). Sometimes before an implant can be placed, bone needs to be added to the site and allowed to regenerate. The bone can be taken from another site in the mouth or other sources can be used. This bone graft acts as a scaffold for your own bone to grow across, regenerate and calcify. As the new bone matures, the bone graft material resorbs (slowly dissolves away). A large percent of the time, a membrane is used to guide the graft to grow to the new bone in the proper way. This is called Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). Many different membranes are available to achieve the desired result.A bone graft may or may not be done at the same time the implant is placed, depending on the individual situation. If it is determined that they need to be performed at separate visits, the length of time between them is normally 4 to 8 months, again depending on what type of bone the graft will be placed in.
Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics)
Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes:
- Deep decay.
- Repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth.
In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

Root canal treatment
The endodontist or general dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, taking the following steps:
- Carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the canal, a channel inside the root, then fills and seals the space.
- Afterwards, you will return to your dentist, who will place a crown or other restoration on the tooth to protect and restore it to full function.
- After the Porcelain Crown, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth (American Association of Endodontics.
